Elaine Mayowski tells us that... Kyrie (U-AG1 Saranac Better In Black MX, MXJ, CD, CGC, TDI, CL1-F, CL1-R, CL1-H, TN-N, WV-N, NJC) starts her year off Fantastic ! At the Erie Kennel Club Show on Jan. 7 and Jan. 8 she Double Q'd both days with all 2nd place wins. She picked up 79 more Mach points and 2 more Doubles. She is now at 9 Double Q's and 918 Mach points. Way to go my "Little Bear". I Love you. AND... The weekend didn't end there...My other team player "Chet" did a fantastic job. Earning his OJP and his first leg towards his AJP with both 1st place wins ! Way to go "Cheddar Cheese" I Love you too. (Picture on right.) Walter Piroth tells us that... It is my honor to inform everyone that my teammate, oZZy is now oZZy TDI, CD, CGC, AXJ and AX (Agility Excellent). This long sought after third leg occurred at Countrywide Agility on Sunday January 8, 2006. OZZy had a perfect run, we placed second, and I messed up just once but because he’s a lot more agile than I am he was able to avoid me running over him. He's getting good at getting out of the way. So now we hope to get our Masters Titles before we’re both to old to remember why we’re trialing. A special thanks to her honor Judge Kim Reeher for her wonderful course.
Brags from the Nov/Dec 2005 Newsletter

The blue merle girls then moved up to Rally Advanced where Kirby turned the tables on her sister by getting a perfect score and taking 4th place at the Winterland Classic in Michigan.
Jackie Herbein is thrilled to report that Rondo (Patented Classical Form, UD, MX, MXJ, MXP, AJP, TDInc) completed his Utility Dog title at the Crown Classic! He was undoubtedly tired of hearing his mom singing "All I want for Christmas is my UD...." and managed to get it all together on his first morning in Cleveland. MACh Allegro (MACh T'Angel's Allegro Molto, UD, AXP, AJP) spent his first day in a snit because he saw agility rings and was expected to do obedience, but managed to recover by Friday when he earned his 9th UDX leg!

Lynn and Tom Uram tell us that...On November 12, 2005, Chet (A/C Ch Kelbren Blue Flame) finished his Novice Agility Jumpers title at the Admiral Perry Agility Trial in Edinboro, PA. As icing on the cake, he placed second in the 16" novice jumpers class. We are so excited that he now has an agility title to go along with his CD and Rally Novice titles. We can't thank Elaine Mayowski enough for the marvelous job she's done training Chet and handling him in the agility ring. They make a great team!! AND...On Thanksgiving weekend, Elaine Mayowski and Chet were burning up the agility rings in Edinboro, PA. Chet earned his Novice Jumpers Preferred (NJP) title in three straight shows with three first place finishes. Two of his three qualifying legs were earned with perfect scores!! Chet and Elaine will be pursuing his Open Jumpers title in 2006, and we're eager to see them in the agility ring again! We are very grateful to Elaine for the wonderful job she's doing with Chet. AND...On December 10th and 11th, Chet competed in the Open Jumpers Preferred agility class for the first time, and we're delighted to report that he qualified both days with perfect scores and first place finishes. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Elaine Mayowski for handling Chet to these exciting wins. Elaine and Chet have earned two agility titles in the last six weeks, and they are one leg away from a third one. We couldn't be happier!
Bill Herbein reports that Trio (Homespun Classical Style, MX, MXJ, TDInc) felt neglected with all the broohaha about his older brothers' obedience accomplishments at the Crown Classic and wants everyone to know he earned his 12th Excellent B double Q on his first of two days there.
Karen Rose Cercone tells us that...Running in agility at the Winterland Classic, Brynn picked up her first double-Q of the year (yes, in November) and placed 3rd in Exc B Jumpers. Karen Rose estimates that if Team Brynn continues earning double-Q's at this blazing rate, their MACH title should arrive in the mail on the same day that she gets her first Social Security check.
AND...Cammi and Dawson’s competing with one another is too close to call, again. This time, Cammi and Dawson were entered in four days of showing at the Cleveland Crown Classic 2005. On the first day, Cammi double-Q’d earning her an MX and MXJ titles. In total, she qualified four of the eight runs all finishing between 6-10 place in each of the runs earning her 51 total MACH points. On the other hand, Dawson also finished with four qualifying runs out of eight. Dawson finished 1st and 2nd in Excellent A Jumpers earning him two of the three legs needed for his AXJ. In addition, Dawson finished 2nd twice in Excellent A Standard earning him his AX title. Finally, Dawson finished 5th in his first Excellent B Standard run earning him his first 15 MACH points. Although Yvette and I refused to get in between Cammi and Dawson’s arguments over who has done better, Dawson argument that he went from Novice to Excellent in under six months is something Cammi can only respond by saying “Rookie Handler!”
Lynn & Tom Uram tells us that... On November 12, 2005, Chet (A/C Ch Kelbren Blue Flame) finished his Novice Agility Jumpers title at the Admiral Perry Agility Trial in Edinboro, PA.

Anne Trosky reports that...Shadow (Moon Shadow of Summerridge, CDX) got his Agility career off to a surprising and successful start. At his first ever Agility Trial at TRSSCGP'S Agility Trial in Edinboro on October 22 & 23, Shadow qualified both days in Novice Preferred JWW with a first place finish each day. Shadow is still trying to figure out why those tunnels are so dark and long and the other obstacles are so irresistible on the Standard course. Anne and Shadow are just so happy to be back in the ring together...that's my Shadow!!
Elaine Mayowski tells us that...Kyrie (U-AG1 Saranac Better In Black AX, MXJ, CD, CGC, TDI, CL1-F, CL1-R, CL1-H, TN-N, WV-N, NJC) qualified in Excellent Standard earning her 4th leg towards her MX title with a 3rd place and 15 more Mach points at the Erie Kennel Club show on October 1, 2005. The next day Kyrie earned her 7th MX leg with a 2nd place and 16 more Mach points. We are getting it together my sweet "Little Bear." Love Ya !

Kyrie (U-AG1 Saranac Better In Black AX, MXJ,
CD, CGC, TDI, CL1-F, CL1-R, CL1-H, TN-N, WV-N, NJC) qualified in Jumpers on

her MX and 17 more Mach points and then qualified in Jumpers on 9/18 and 8
more Mach points AND HER FIRST "DOUBLE Q". Way to go my "Little Bear".
Julie Iverson tells us that...What a weekend Homespun had! On Saturday 10/22 at TRSSCGP's first agility trial, Lynmarr Send in the Clown AX NAP AXJ NJP CGC started the weekend by winning a first place in the Open Standard preferred class and then went on to get a 2nd in the Jumpers preferred for his OJP title (we got one of the very nice new title ribbons). On Sunday 10/23 he moved up to the Excellent Jumpers preferred course and got a 2nd place. And in the Open Standard preferred class he got another first place. Kellie ( CH Kimmany Kalypso) and Weaver (CH Homespun Dream Weaver) made their debut at this trial. On Saturday Kellie got her first leg in Novice Standard with a third place and then got her first Novice Jumpers leg with a first place. On Sunday she obtained her second leg in Novice Standard with a 2nd place and barely beat out her son for first place in Novice Jumpers. Weaver got his first leg in Novice Jumpers with a second. Their times were very close. Kellie ran the course in 33.08 seconds and Weaver's run was 33.82. Out of 12 runs for the weekend we ended up with 9 qualifiers, 4 blue ribbons, 4 red ribbons, one yellow ribbon and one new title ribbon. I'm very proud of all my guys. There were bets on whether Kellie would actually run the course or take the princess attitude that the whole thing was beneath her. Sheila and Mary couldn't believe that she was the same dog that they've seen in class. Kellie was all business and attacked the course with style.
Elaine Mayowski tells us that... Kyrie (U-AG1 Saranac Better In Black AX, MXJ, CD, CGC, TDI, CL1-F, CL1-R, CL1-H, TN-N, WV-N, NJC) earned her 6th MX leg with a 1st place and 40 Mach points then went on to qualify in Jumpers with another 1st place and 24 Mach points. That is her 3rd Double Q and 553 points towards her Mach Title! This was at the Shenandoah Valley Kennel Club show on October 8, 2005. Way to go my sweat "Little Bear" Love Ya ! Brags from the September 2005 Newsletter Roe and Ed George are excited to announce that....CH. Kelvington's Spirit N the Sky went BOB and a group 3 at the Shawnee K.C. under judge J.R. White. Bred by Elaine Kelvington, owned and shown by Roe George. Spirit is almost 8 years old! He has also won several BOS lately....He was retired, he still has it. Maureen and Lindsay Spitznogle tell us that...On Sunday at the Laurel Highlands KC show in Ebensburg, Emprise Roadmaster "Christopher" was Winners Dog for his last single point. He needs that one major to finish. Lynn & Tom Uram tell us that...Chet (A/C Ch Kelbren Blue Flame, CD, RN) has been out of the conformation ring for over two years, and we decided to enter him at the Clarksburg West Virginia Kennel Club's show on September 17th just for fun. We thought it would be exciting to have Chet and his son (CastleGate's Daily News) in the ring at the same show. Much to our delight, Geraldo won his class, and Chet won BOB over two other specials. Just to add icing to the cake, Chet made the cut in the group ring as well. Many of our club members stayed to cheer for Chet in the group ring, and that made the day even more special for us. Chet was handled to his BOB today by Debbie Miller-Gurchak. It was the first time that the two of them had been in the conformation ring together, and they looked great! Our breed judge at the Clarksburg Show was James Neal Barrett, and the group judge was Judith Goodin. We're so proud of our two blue boys!! AND...We're smiling at CastleGate again this weekend! On September 24th, CastleGate's Daily News was RWD under breeder judge Nan Bodine at the Butler, PA show. I know that most people don't get too excited about reserves, but putting a reserve myself on a puppy that I bred was pretty special to me. Geraldo is eight months old, and the Butler show was only the fourth time that we've been in the ring together. We're so proud of Geraldo!! AND...Daily (Shamont Most Unusual Day) was not going to be outdone by her son's RWD this weekend. On September 25th, Daily was WB in Davenport, Iowa. September 25th was also Daily's fifth birthday, so that made her win even more special. Daily was handled to this win by Amy Zoss Massey (Kell Shelties). Daily now has five points/one major, and we're very excited to have her back in the ring again!! Owner/ Handler, Marlana Tice is proud to report that... Damingo Marksman's Hi Speed Bullet, OAJ, NA, "Marko" went BEST OF BREED over Specials on September 18, 2005 under Judge Judith Goodin at the Greater Clarksburg Kennel Club show in Weston, West Virginia for his second 3-Point Major. Then "Marko" finished the day with a GROUP 4 under Judge Barbara Dempsey-Alderman. "Marko" now has 13 points with both majors and (2) Best Of Breeds over specials and (2) Group 4 Placements enroute to his Championship. Breeder and Co-Owner, Joanna Fortson, has outdone herself with grooming and supporting me through all of this. We are looking forward to getting those last two points for Marko to finish and Marko is looking forward to going to agility trials where Running and Barking in the ring are allowed and NO GROOMING is required ! Joyce Cummings tells us that...On Sunday July 24th at the Golden Retriever Club AKC agility trial in Cheswick, Pa., Cummings Chivas Regal LTD, NA, NAJ, got his 2nd leg in Open Jumpers with a first place finish for the 12" height class, course time was 46 seconds, Chevy finished In 30.5, he was flying!!! Walter Piroth tells us that...On August 28, 2005 at the Mountaineer Kennel Club Trial in Morgantown, oZZy and I managed by a whole .03 seconds to capture our Excellent JWW title with our third qualifying score. In spite of our less than blinding speed we placed first. You'd think oZZy would be as excited as I was but no he's still pouting. When we stopped for ice cream on the way home, as is our tradition, and after he ate all of his he felt I should share some of mine with him. I had chocolate chip and told him he couldn't have any because chocolate makes doggies real sick. He didn't believe it and accused me on coming up with some lame story so I wouldn't have to give him any. AND…”On Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18th at the Beaver County Kennel Club Trial at Cheswick oZZy had two perfect runs in Excellent A Standard to capture his first and second legs. The Sunday run resulted in a first place finish. We made a stop later in the day at Brusters to celebrate. He was given an extra large dish of ice cream that he inhaled in typical Sheltie fashion. I think his feelings on this are I can’t share something that’s gone. A couple minutes later he threw up. Ha." Rita & Wayne Slepcevich tell us that….At the BCKC Agility Trial on September 17 & 18, U-AGI Homespun Sweet Home Chicago CD, OA, AXJ, NAC, NJC, OGC, RS-N, JS-N, GS-O, CGC, TDI “Hannah”, earned the first leg of her Agility Excellent title with a 1st place, the fifth and sixth legs of her Master Agility Jumper title, and 10 more MACH points. AND...At the Shetland Sheepdog Club Of Greater Baltimore’s Sheltie only agility trial on September 23 & 24, Hannah earned the seventh and eighth legs of her Master Agility Jumper title, one with a 4th place, and 12 more MACH points. From Carol DeMoss, Royanne Mac and Libby Wade: Jason, Ch. Dunade Kaskade's Golden Fleece, NAJ received his NPJ title in three straight shows. His last leg was earned at the Baltimore Shetland Sheepdog Trial with a perfect score and he was 20 seconds UNDER time. Now on to those awful 12 weave poles!! From Carol DeMoss and Linda Evans: Charm, Kaskade's Demistasse, NAJ won her first leg in Open Jumbers and a second place at Cheswick on Sept 17th. From Linda Evans and Carol DeMoss: Journey, Kaskade's Legacy of the Wind, OA, OAJ not to be out done by her daughter Charm, received a leg and first place in Open Standard at Cheswick on Sept. 17th. Peter & Yvette Grandillo Jr. tells us that…Suntera Dawson Grandillo won’t be happy until he beats his big sister Suntera Cammi Grandillo in an agility trial. During his four runs at the Beaver County Kennel Club on September 17th and 18th, 2005, he was whispering from his crate to Cammi’s crate that he wanted to get out of Novice as fast as he could and he did just that. Of the 4 runs, he got two qualifying runs in Novice Agility (both first place finishes) to get his Novice Agility Title. He also got 2nd in Novice Agility Jumpers and is one qualifying run short of his Novice Agility Jumpers title. For his fourth run, he was so excited at the start line that he started the course without his handler and got a wrong course disqualification. In return, Cammi says, yea, wait until you compete against the big dogs and barked back loudly to her little brother by finishing 4th in Excellent Agility Jumpers. In between all the barking between them, they forgot that a McDonald’s ice cream cone was coming. While sharing the cone, they both kept saying to each other, see what I did, this ice cream is because of my runs, not yours. Elaine Mayowski tells us that...Kyrie (U-AG1 Saranac Better In Black AX, MXJ, CD, CGC, TDI, CL1-F, CL1-R, CL1-H, TN-N, WV-N, NJC) qualified in Jumpers on 9/17 at the Beaver County Kennel club shows with a 4th place and 9 more Mach points. Then on 9/18 she qualified in Standard to earn her 3rd leg towards her MX and 17 more Mach points and then qualified in Jumpers on 9/18 and 8 more Mach points AND HER FIRST "DOUBLE Q". Way to go my "Little Bear". AND...Kyrie qualified in Jumpers on 9/24 at the Sheltie Specialty Show in Maryland and 11 more Mach points. Way to go "Little Bear". Maybe we will try for that CDX title. Elaine Mayowski tells us that... Gloria Hansen tells us that...Am/Can. CH Tar-Ri Kylenes Country Pride Am/Can. CD, RE, AX, NAP, AXJ, NJP, NAC-V, OJC, CGC, TDI, AG.N, TG-N, TN-N, PT, HCT, JHD, VCX, "JJ" our very special boy at 11 years young never ceases to amazes us. At the WCOTC Trials, "JJ" earned his Open Standard Preferred and Open Jumpers Preferred Titles with First Places! Ken and "JJ" just started doing preferred a few months ago and they are already back up to Excellent level. He also earned a leg and a first place in Excellent Standard Preferred on Sunday.
Bill Herbein reports that... Musical Dogs, Allegro, Rondo, and Trio had two good days and one not so good day at the WCOTC Agility Trials on Aug. 12-14. On Friday, MACH T'Angel's Allegro Molto UD, AXP, OJP [Allegro] completed his Excellent JWW Title with a 1st place finish. Patented Classical Form CDX, MX, MXJ, MXP, AJP [Rondo] earned a 1st place ribbon in Excellent B JWW Preferred and Homespun Classical Style MX, MXJ [Trio] finished 4th in the Excellent B Standard. On Saturday Trio was the lone qualifier with a 3rd place finish in Excellent B Standard. All three musical dogs failed to qualify on the Excellent JWW course in the 90+ degree heat. Sunday was a 4 for 4 day with Allegro and Rondo earning 1st and 2nd places respectively in Excellent B JWW Preferred, and Trio competing his 9th Double Q with a 4th place in Excellent B Standard and a qualifying run in Excellent B JWW.
Peter & Yvette Grandills tells us that...Suntera Dawson Grandillo (Dawson) is barking mad about all the attention Cammi has been getting. So, in one swift whoof, he said, just give me a chance coach, I'll earn some ice cream. So, we gave the guy a chance at the most recent WCOTC agility trial. Dawson had 4 runs in Novice B resulting in two 1st place finishes and one second place finish. (FYI: Coach got NQ'd for forgetting one jump). So, on the way home, Dawson got to share a small vanilla cone with his sister Cammi. More importantly, Dawson has now earned some of his own toys to play with instead of stealing his sisters.
Elaine Mayowski tells us that...Kyrie (U-AG1 Saranac Better In Black AX, MXJ, CD, CGC, TDI, CL1-F, CL1-R, CL1-H, TN-N, WV-N, NJC) Qualified in Excellent Jumpers on 7/10 at the Blue Ridge Dog Training Club with 8 Mach points, Cleveland All Breed on 7/16 with a 4th place and 11 Mach points, Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club on 7/30 with 14 Mach points, Cleveland All Breed on 8/12 with a Big 1st place and 22 Mach points and Youngstown on 8/19 with a 3rd place and 9 Mach points and 8/21 with a 2nd place and 21 Mach points. Brags from the July 2005 Newsletter
Karen Rose Cercone tells us that...Team Brynn continues to have fun playing USDAA agility this summer. Running at the Medina Swarm's home field on June 18 and 19, Brynn qualified in PI Standard and PI Gamblers to complete her PDI title. This is the lower-height equivalent of USDAA's Agility Dog title and it requires six qualifying runs in different events: three in standard and one each in jumpers, gamblers and snooker. Brynn finished her title in two trials with five 1sts and a 2nd. That's not as impressive as it sounds when you consider that she's running the equivalent of AKC Novice courses with 10-year-old labs and 12-year-old border collies as her competition! Brynn also completed her PI Jumpers title at Medina by earning three qualifying legs in jumpers, all with 1sts. On to PII! AND...Team Brynn also managed to qualify in Excellent B Jumpers at the Erie KC on July 1 in Albion. Miss Brynn is just like the little girl with the curl on her forehead: when she's good, she's very, very good! She beat out all the multiple MACH competition in the 16" class to take 1st place with a time of 29.02 seconds. Of course, when it came to her standard run ... remember what the little girl with the curl on her forehead is like when she's bad? Enough said.
Walter Piroth reports that...We got our second leg in Excellent A Jumpers on Sunday at the Erie Kennel Club Trial at Albion. We didn't break any speed records but we qualified and had a third place finish. So that's good. What was scary was I had a complete course blackout about half way through. So we just proceeded to the next convenient jump. Nice guess. Or maybe oZZy pointed in the right direction. In standard, well let's just say there will be another day.

Hats off to her for all of her help !!

He also did this at the young age of 3 1/2 yrs making him the youngest biblack to earn this as of this date. I believe he is also the first biblack male to earn the VCX designation. And... Cammi was also entered in the Youngstown All Breed Training Club agility trial on June 12th and 13th. In Standard Excellent B, Cammi took second place twice with 22 and 28 mach points. (Picture on right)
Translation from Cammi’s perspective, human master makes me jump, jump, climb, jump, run thru tunnels, and weaves. When we leave the huge dog party, we walk away with color napkins and a new toy that my brother steals immediately. Then we drive next to this big dog house where they give food outside the doggie door (Mc Donald’s). I love it because human master gives me this creamy cold and white food (vanilla ice cream) to cool me off and fill me up. For some reason, my little big brother gets to share in eating my ice cream, but he didn’t do anything for it. How fair is that!
Lynda Kuzbel tells us that... Shelby got her 10th leg at the Westmoreland County Show and received her MXJ title

Also at the Westmoreland Trial Ozzy finished first for his first leg in Open Standard. He had a 92. An unexpected temporal variation of the Earth's gravity field under one end of the teeter board caused by unknown geophysical phenomena resulted in a miscalculation of the teeter's board center of mass. This caused Ozzy to stand perplexed while the board remained perfectly stationary. He quickly recalculated his position, leaned foreword, and successfully redistributed the mass enough to make the teeter fall. All this is why we were over time by 4 seconds and had a 92 score. That’s his story anyway. Shelties.
